Our original polishing shop facility is well equipped with conventional 'spindles' on which we manufacture spectroscopic windows, simple lenses and most of the work that forms the backbone of our crystal polishing business. High quality 'hands-on' work is performed here too, and it houses our Carlap and Somos double-sided polishing machines.

The Specialist Polishing Shop
This polishing shop houses our three 48" Lapmaster pitch-lap polishing machines and is where we specialise in producing optics regularly to λ/8 and better, on materials ranging in hardness from Calcium Fluoride through to Glass and Sapphire.
Such exacting work requires constant in process testing. Here a component is tested for λ/20 performance in double-pass transmission.
