All materials and crystals are normally processed in our 'Blank Shop'. It is here that the raw crystal is inspected and stored, and the cutting plans are made. They produce the optical 'blanks', these are the unpolished discs, prism shapes or whatever exact sizes that the polishing shops request of them. |

Much of the machinery will be familiar in any engineering shop anywhere, but the specialist equipment generally uses diamond edged saw blades and edging wheels to work crystal and glasses delicately. Equipment includes: Startrite Diamond Bandsaws, Capco Annular Saws, Loadpoint CNC Dicing Saws, Dama Edging Machines, Rogers & Clark and Bothner Lens Generators.
